Created a web application for creating real time collaborative playlists for parties. The application is powered using the YouTube API. Currently the web application is broken, as I have been rebuilting the web application using NodeJs, Socket.io and RethinkDB to deliever a true real time experiance
My University project was to wire up participates of the Kent 50th Anniversary bike ride event with Raspberry Pi’s to track and record various information on the rider’s performance such as Cadence, Speed, and Heart-rate. The Pi then going to send this data live over the mobile network to the Kent 50th Anniversary website for visitors to track rider’s progress. Additionally we have created an app which will allow a wider audience to track their GPS location as they take part in the race without being a Pi, on their android or iOS device.
The result of the project so far are the website which is displaying the results/data from the riders in two main pages. The Main page which shows all the riders locations along the route on a google map which dynamically automatically updating every couple of seconds. Riders on the map will either be using the app or the be wired up with a Pi. The page also displays some averages from the riders data under the map. The second page is the rider profile which displays the data in more detail in a google chart also dynamically updating every couple of seconds along with some general information which the rider can put in. For recording the data there is have the bike-tracker phone app which tracks riders GPS and plots them on the google map which is available for iOS and Android phones. The project also uses a raspberry Pi which will be carried by riders to record and send data on Cadence, Speed, and Heart-rate.
Product Search Engine using the Amazon and Facebook API. The user selects a friend from their Facebook friends list, then the application attempts to analyse the person’s personality. After the person persons personality has been classified, the application suggests suitable gifts on Amazon.
I was given the task of creating a new product with one of the development team The task was to create a piece of software that was a part of the Clear Books ecosystem and produced end of year accounts. We were given free rein of how the product and the software was designed.
The brief was to produce a MVC (minimum viable product) of the software, this was to produce a product with the least amount of features.
I also adopted the role as videographer and video editor during my tenure at Clear Books. I obtained this role as I was the only person who could edit videos. I started off recording and editing internal training videos for the marketing team. After a duration of time, I was entrusted to edit public facing videos, for example, I combined the audio and slides from a presentation to make a webinar.
